i do, ofcMelonChaser wrote:Well I won't be seen in a tank today! So who plays the game so I can add them to my friends list so I canramhelp them with a cruiser
and general rules for avoiding ramming allies:
red light: you have to give way, slow down/stop/maneuver and generally try to avoid ramming (if you ram its your fault)
green light: keep on your course and try to avoid maneuvering into an ally that is giving you way, slow down if necessary
if your ally cant meneuver avoid ramming into it
ramming allies is non-lethal but incredibly annoying
if you ram an enemy both your ships explode in fireworks
Re: World of Wartubs
I play it as well now, but dont know how long that will last.. It may last long, or not.. I'll see.

I set up another "READ all the books!" channel in WoWS some days ago. Like in WoWP channels seem to be permanent.

I was about to ask why there are always that many Battleships in the queue. I unlocked the first two american ones recently, maybe I can write down my experiences with them some time.

Because wot players. The cruiser numbers are starting to rise as well.

Re: World of Wartubs
Cruiser numbers will rise very slowly due to so many battleships (battleships are very effective against cruisers if you noticed)
These new BB players from wot always make me laugh, they cry all day about CV, yesterday it was "CV players shouldn't be able to control their planes"
and they don't understand how DD work, so they cry about cloaking devices and DD being generally op
They are kinda boring when they talk about CA though, looks like the only thing they are able to say is "nerf HE"

The Furutaka is pain, I was going to grind from this ship but oh Celestia it just makes me want to die. At least my other lines are fun.

Actually I haven't noticed that, whenever I took a CA into a fight against a BB I ususally won due to torps, RoF, I stayed out of range of his 155mm when possible and was constantly dodging his main guns. Can't do that in the Furataka though ¬,¬

Re: World of Wartubs
if you take your time to aim your battleship salvo, and rng doesnt screw you, you usually take out between 1/4 and 1/2 hitpoints from same-tiered cruisers, if not outright kill themMelonChaser wrote:Abaddon wrote:(battleships are very effective against cruisers if you noticed)

also, tenryu is a destroyer, and kuma half cruiser and half destroyer, no wonder these 2 ships are good against BBs
trust me when i say that omaha is much worse than furutaka
at least furutaka has 200mm guns with good penetration
remember that myogi and kongou are actually battlecruisers and their armor can be easily penetrated from a distance

Re: World of Wartubs
Ok, so I started playing with WoWS entering open beta phase, only 70 battles so far. Took me some battles to get used to the aiming and usage of HE/AP. Everything was going fine and I was clubbing my way up the cruiser line to the Phoenix and decided to go for the Battleship line, too. South Carolina, check, next stop: Wyoming.
Ok, so I got this beauty. 12 games. 25 kills.
2 victories.
Yep, this is my second session with in it, I just tried to score a victory for the daily 1.5x. Also there was another defeat, but I started taking screenshots too late.
It's funny somehow, only 70 battles in WoWP so far and already so close to my record losing streak in WoT after 20k battles. Well, partly the slow speed of my ship was to blame. No chance to decap sometimes, not to mention the draws.
Yet still I scored 1st or 2nd of my team for most of these matches. But what does it matter in the end if your team only consists of drooling mouthbreathers? I swear, the last draw ended like this because I happened to be on the other side of the map while my allies were absolutely unable to kill the last remaining enemy who was engaging the three of them in close combat within the last minute. And in that defeat inbetween the two draws I had to dodge a whole lot more friendly than enemy torpedos, I'm not even kidding.
My impressions so far with the classes (and their players) as following:
Destroyers - suiciders
Cruisers - right combination of speed and maneuverability result in them hitting islands frequently
Battleships - slow, therefore often decide to not move at all
Carriers - sit in corners, massive chatrage if something slips through to them
I don't really know what more to say. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but somehow I feel like having seen the most important things already. The gameplay is somewhat refreshing, but then the recurring elements... the minimap... the gametimer... other parts of the interface... and most important your moronic teammates which fail to take notice of any of that.
I think the day I quit WoT will be the day I quit these kind of games altogether. And the huge pile of shit which is their community (at least the vast majority).
For now I'll just try to fill the six places in my port with ships from tier 1-6. There's no point for me in grinding any further. And I should probably get my hands on a carrier, might be a good idea with all the battleships around, like Eden mentioned.

Re: World of Wartubs
keep calm and carry... with carrier
no but, really, all these new players are still tied to wot mentality while also trying to learn the game (or maybe they are just playing this game like wot, i dunno, i lost count of how many BB try to peek-a-boom behind islands)
now that beta testers reached higher tiers the average DD and CA player skill dropped considerably (average BB player skill has been drowned by heavy-tank-drivers since release)
and, from my experience, playing after midnight only brings fucked up MM and retarded/asleep teammates
yesterday i played 4 battles in Ryujo, 3 wins/1 loss (i fucked up against that cruiser in the end...), 2 top guns and 1 confederate, was a pretty ok day

My warships teams are where dreams go to die at the moment. Why did they have to add the Atlanta and Atago back to the store so soon?
edit: oh god if i come top of the team one more time when all i did was hit one enemy with a few torpedoes i think i might cry.

Re: World of Wartubs
Agreed, looks like all the lowe-buyers bought themselves one of those cruisers tooScienceWoona wrote:Why did they have to add the Atlanta and Atago back to the store so soon?
But at least high tier MM is less fucked up now and since there are no high tier premium CVs or BBs they can cause only limited damage to their own teams
Anyway, yesterday while I was test sailing my stock Hiryu I think I met the best Atago player currently on EU server: for the whole match he stayed behind his team (yes, even behind my carrier) doing nothing but spamming torps at enemies 25+km away and successfully managing to disrupt our BB line and even hitting some friendly ships not maneuverable enough to avoid all the torps, while I had to constantly adjust my route so not to ram him; when we started losing ships he inverted route and sailed north, back to our spawn, and was lost in the sunset
Will upload the replay when I get back home
